Advanced QGIS
This pathway begins where the QGIS practical course finishes. It is for people who can already load, create, edit and map data and now want repeatable workflows rather than more buttons.
The lessons are written against QGIS 3.44 LTR and use the same Aotearoa/Māori GIS setting as the introductory course.
Lessons
- Expressions and data-defined values
- Advanced labels and symbology
- Relations and repeat observations
- Models and batch processing
- Terrain and raster analysis
- Atlas layouts and repeated maps
- Geometry repair and topology checks
- Web services and QField preparation
Use a real question
The advanced course works best if you choose one project such as:
- repeat taiao monitoring
- multiple whenua/block map sheets
- a historical-place research database
- restoration-area reporting
- council/LINZ live services
- field inspection project
Use public or synthetic data while learning. Apply the pattern to locally held information only when the project structure makes sense.
