NZTM2000
NZGD2000 / New Zealand Transverse Mercator 2000 (EPSG:2193) is the standard national projected CRS used widely for New Zealand GIS datasets.
Its coordinates are metres, which makes it practical for local/national distance, area, buffering and cartography.
NZGD2000 versus NZTM2000
NZGD2000 is the geodetic datum/reference system. NZTM2000 is the Transverse Mercator projection used to express NZGD2000 positions as eastings and northings.
Google Earth is different
KML/Google Earth exchange is normally longitude/latitude WGS84-style coordinates. QGIS/ArcGIS will reproject a correctly defined EPSG:2193 layer during KML export. Do not manually divide NZTM numbers or relabel them as latitude/longitude.
Height is separate
EPSG:2193 is horizontal. A LiDAR dataset also needs a vertical datum such as NZVD2016.
